Understanding the Basics of Price on Disney Cruise

A crucial factor in planning a Disney Cruise is comprehending the pricing structure. The cost varies depending on multiple factors, such as the duration of the cruise, stateroom category, time of booking, itinerary, and the ship itself.

The Disney Cruise cost per person varies greatly depending on several factors such as the destination, the type of cabin you choose, and the time of year you plan to travel. On average, you can expect to pay anywhere from $800 to $4,000 per person for a standard 7-night Disney Cruise. However, this price can go up or down depending on the factors mentioned above.

Our Blissful team has had the pleasure of embarking on various Disney Cruises as avid Disney Fans. We embarked on the 2021 Disney Adventure to Alaska, and in 2022, we had the opportunity to sail on the magnificent Disney Wish and Disney Magic. While the cost of Disney cruises may vary, typically around $2000 per person, as a family of four (two adults and two kids) now working as travel agents, we have been able to secure a total cost of less than $6000 for all of us, even when sailing on different ships. It’s important to note that historically, the cost of Disney Cruises has averaged around $1700 per person.

Note: These prices cost throughout the year due to inflation or adjustments in Disney Cruise prices peak travel times typically cost more. Additionally, please note that these prices apply only to your Staterooms and do not include the cost of shore excursions offered.

Unveiling the Secrets: The Price Factors Behind a Disney Cruise!

Planning a Disney Cruise? Let’s talk about the factors that can influence the cost per person. These include the time of year, the length of the cruise, the destination, and the type of cabin you choose.

For instance, if you’re traveling with a family of 4, opting for peak times or larger cabins may increase the cost. But here’s a tip: the cheapest time for a Disney Cruise is in September. Now, I know what you’re thinking – why September?

Well, it’s because of the weather. September marks the start of hurricane season in the Atlantic, which means potential delays and cancellations. But if you’re willing to take that chance, it’s a great way to save some money. Trust me, I’ve booked two Disney Cruises in September myself for the cheaper pricing. So, if you’re looking to make the most of your Disney Cruise experience while keeping costs in check, consider September as your go-to time.

Disney Cruise Packages: Customize Your Dream Voyage!

Disney Cruise Line offers various packages and add-ons, such as onboard activities, dining experiences, and excursions. While these can enhance your cruise adventure, they also contribute to the overall cost. Consider these extras when budgeting for your trip.

If you’re looking to save on these extras, consider booking a stateroom-only package and purchasing add-ons individually. This gives you more control over your expenses and allows you to choose which activities and experiences are worth the extra cost for your family.

What Affects the Price of a Disney Cruise?

  • Stateroom type
  • Sailing date (high season – Low Season )
  • Passenger amount (How many guests are sailing)
  • Destination and itinerary
  • Ship
  • Shore Excursions and Add-ons – EX Alaska, Europe, Disney Wish with Wald Disney World
Grand Hall Disney Wish
The moniker “atrium” has been dropped for the Wish’s lobby area; on the new ship, this area is called the Grand Hall.

Disney Cruise Cost Per Person: Breaking Down Expenses

Understanding the cost breakdown per person is essential. It includes the base fare, taxes, port fees, gratuities, travel insurance (if opted for), onboard expenses, and any additional purchases made during the cruise.

Breaking down these expenses can help you determine which areas you can save on and where you would like to splurge. For instance, if you’re not interested in onboard activities, skip the activity package and spend that money on a shore excursion instead.

Disney Cruise Costs by Destination

  • The average Disney cruise price starts around $800 to $1,600 per person for a 1- to 3-night Disney cruise in an inside room.
  • Length of trip, ports of departure and arrival, and travel dates all affect pricing.
  • While a Disney cruise may be more expensive than other cruise options, it offers unique onboard experiences.
  • Disney cruises are an ideal option for families, couples, and solo travelers looking for a magical and family-friendly travel experience.

The cost of a Disney Cruise per person can vary greatly depending on the destination. For instance, a Caribbean cruise tends to be more affordable compared to a European or Alaskan cruise, primarily due to differences in distance and port fees.

For example, sailing in August 2024 the following destinations were this price:

  • 7-Night Eastern Caribbean Cruise from $3,309 for 2 guest
  • 7-Night Western Caribbean Cruise from $3435 for 2 guests
  • 7-Night Alaskan Cruise from $3728 for 2 guests
  • 7-Night Norwegian Fjords Cruise from $5,715 for 2 guests

Disney Cruise Cabin Pricing by Type

We analyzed the pricing of a standard 7-night cruise, with a focus on the available categories (excluding category R, concierge royal suites). The prices mentioned are for two adults. If you have a genuine interest in the royal suites, please don’t hesitate to contact us. I’ll make sure to find a way to accommodate it, even if it means fitting it into a full-size suitcase!

These popular suites, which often sell out, can range from high 4 figures for a 3-night cruise on the Dream, to well over $20,000 for a 7-night cruise on the Fantasy during a slower season. Currently, the least expensive December cruise for two adults is priced at $22,000, but most sailings are already sold out. I won’t even begin to speculate on the fares for Christmas and New Year’s.

What’s truly remarkable is the consistent upward trend in pricing (until you reach the concierge level). This demonstrates Disney’s commitment to maintaining a uniform pricing structure across the various categories. It’s interesting to note that while the majority of staterooms are verandah staterooms, the larger supply doesn’t necessarily translate to lower prices. Disney seems to have struck a balance by offering just the right number of each stateroom type to meet the demands of their guests.
